Like a supermodel, new Toyota models suit up beautifully in just about anything: different powertrains, small cars, large trucks, various features. One thing we know that Toyota's looked good in for quite some time is: green.
Toyota's no stranger to the world of environmental-friendly vehicles, and the company is consistently recognized for that. The 2013 Green Car Guide recently awarded the company with top honors, after all.
The awards were published by the Automobile Club of Southern California where it recognized six of the top ten green vehicles and best value scores belonged to Toyota.
The RAV4 EV was one such model that caught the club's attention:
"The RAV4 EV has excellent acceleration, zero tailpipe emissions and a real 100+ mile range, while maintaining roominess and flexibility," explains Steve Mazor, Automotive Research Center Manager and Chief Engineer.1
The vehicles were evaluated in various categories including vehicle emissions, EPA fuel economy interior noise, handling, and cargo capacity. The vehicles were scored from zero to 10 in each category and totaled the scores to determine the winners. From there, the cumulative scores are divided by vehicle MSRP to determine the best value.
Even traversing over to Scion, we offer models like the Scion iQ which also received recognition.
If you want to look good in green, we suggest visiting DCH Toyota of Torrance in Torrance, CA. We are happy to answer any questions you have, and we'll arrange a test drive for you, too!
