Some models come and go, and others are here to stay--and for good reason. The all-new 2014 Corolla is here (it debuted in Santa Monica!), but anyone who knows Toyota--no matter what level of familiarity--is aware that the Corolla has been around for quite some time. This is the eleventh edition of the model, and it's back with a fresh look.
Even though it hasn't undergone a redesign in 2009, it still beat out its competitors like the Chevy Cruze, Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta with 29,0947 units. Loyal customers are returning, and loyal customers spread the word--creating new customers we have the pleasure serving at showrooms like DCH Toyota of Torrance every day. So we can only imagine the potential this all-new vehicle has to offer.
Here's the scoop. The front end looks different, but it still has model influence; in fact, the grille influence is bred from the Toyota Avalon, but with less chrome. Previously, there'd been talk about the model drawing influence from the Furia Concept displayed in Detroit, and now its colors show with its shape, particularly the curves that hug the car. Again, there's another influential piece, this time from the Scion FR-S. You'll notice this from the black and silver wheels.
Furthermore, the wheelbase and the overall length increase by 3.9 inches in the model, and if you were wondering when LEDs would become standard, someone's heard your request.
In terms of power and performance, you'll like what you see under the hood. There, you'll discover two, 1.8-liter engines all-aluminum producing 132-horsepower when you opt for the L,LE and S trims. If the new LE Eco trim is more your style, you must be a fan of the extra power, which is bumped up to 140-horsepower.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. We're still waiting for it here, but you can still experience the 2013 Corolla in full at our Torrance, CA showroom. We'd be more than happy to go over more details and introduce you to our complete lineup if you'd like. Come by when the time is right for you!
