Toyota is a brand that prides itself on using cutting-edge technology and limit-pushing ideas, and this forward thinking isn't just limited to what you'll find in the selection of new cars that are part of our inventory. The Japanese automaker has extended this philosophy to helping drivers create their perfect cars, and the search engine giant Google is helping.
Toyota and Google have created a new way for buyers to design their ideal car, and it eliminates the need for you to spend a long time with your whole family poring through options at the dealership. It's called the Toyota Collaborator, and it's powered by Google+. It uses Hangouts, Google's Skype-like feature that lets people or groups video chat and easily collaborate.
Once you open the Collaborator tool, you can launch the Hangout interface, but with the 2014 Toyota Corolla that you're specializing. Everyone in the Hangout can help select features, extras, and color, and once you're done, you can all watch it take a virtual test drive.
Once everyone has agreed on what makes a perfect Corolla, you can invite a local sales rep, such as a member of the DCH Toyota of Torrance team, into the call, and he'll help you from there, arranging test drives and taking you on the next few steps toward vehicle ownership.
It's pretty cool and a lot of fun, and we encourage you to try it out for yourself! You can see the tool in action in the video below, and don't hesitate to contact our Torrance, CA with any questions.
