Toyota is reportedly developing a new Pre-Collision System that it has dubbed PCS as a preliminary moniker. The system uses millimeter-wave radar to detect vehicles in front of it. As the gap between your vehicle and the one in front of you is closed by traveling at a faster speed, PCS will warn you to brake in order to reduce the likelihood of an accident.
PCS can make accurate predictions about how likely a collision is to occur because Toyota developed it using data from real crashes. In other words, it's wise to heed the system's warnings.
