It's been a while since the Toyota RAV4 got a refresh, 2005 to be exact. While we're all aware of the SUV's dependability and overall quality, and here at DCH Toyota of Torrance, we don't believe that will change, but with the 2013 RAV4, we should see plenty of updates on the vehicle's exterior.

Some of the first photos of the revamped RAV4 were published in an Italian auto magazine called Quattroroute, showing off a modern new stance that's every bit bold as it is reliable. This new look includes sleek sporty design curves, giving the 2013 Toyota RAV4 a much more luxurious appearance. It's also more aerodynamic, and has a re-worked front end with a new grille and headlamps. That extends to the back, where the liftgate has been refreshed along with the taillights and bumper.

The exterior updates place the 2013 RAV4 on equal footing with many of the new design trends we're seeing on SUVs across different brands, while still maintaining that unique new Toyota essence which makes vehicles like the RAV4 such a hit with drivers worldwide.

As for what will power the new Toyota RAV4, that's unknown at this point, but some speculate that the V6 option will be replaced with a powerful, but fuel-efficient 2.5-liter engine. Inside the cabin, we're guessing many of the features will be the same as the forthcoming Toyota RAV4 EV, the electric SUV that's already made its debut in California. The RAV4 EV has a similar look to the traditional utility vehicle, and both will be assembled at the same plant in Canada, so it's not out of the question.
