It seems these days like every automaker is creating a hybrid version of their flagship sedan or crossover. Because of this, there are now more hybrid models to choose from than ever before. And while Toyota has certainly completed the first half of this industry-wide trend with the release of the Camry Hybrid, drivers from the greater Torrance area and beyond have been waiting patiently for a new entry into the hybrid crossover space from the Japanese automaker.

Today, we here at DCH Toyota of Torrance are happy to say Toyota may be planning just that.

Hot off the official unveiling of the 2013 RAV4, Toyota officials are now considering a hybrid offshoot. This would give those who love the redesigned crossover sport utility vehicle an ultra fuel-efficient option, but there's currently no word on when that choice would be made available.

In fact, Toyota hasn't really even confirmed that a RAV4 Hybrid is even in the works. A representative merely stated that the possibility of one is on the table as a potential endeavor in the near future. At the end of the day, the choice of whether or not to produce a hybrid version of the all-new RAV4 is going to come down to demand.

While Toyota watches the market to see if it's right for a RAV4 Hybrid, you can bet everyone at DCH Toyota of Torrance will be keeping a close eye on our favorite Japanese automaker. If we hear anything, we'll be sure to post it to our blog, which you can keep up with via your RSS reader.
