Good news for Toyota drivers in the greater Torrance, GA area... Toyota has managed to reduce the overall cost of its 2012 Camry.
How did they do it? By using Robots from the previously shut -down NUMMI plant in California! For those of you not familiar with the NUMMI plant, the acronym stands for New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. - a joint-venture Toyota was once part of.
As previously mentioned, the use of the robots, which Toyota had only to reprogram to build the best-selling Camry, helped cut the cost by an average of two percent. That said. The price of the L trim has risen slightly. Operative word: slightly. Most of the savings are realized by higher-level Camry trims.
