Through Scion, Toyota was able to experiment with several strategies, including:

  • Pure Pricing -- one low set price that customers don't need to haggle over
  • Personalization -- offering customization through a large number of accessories
  • Pure Process Plus -- allowing customers to complete most of the car purchase online
  • Scion Service Boost -- pre-paid maintenance plan

Scion also allowed Toyota to build unique and exciting models that would look out of place in a Toyota showroom, and appeal to younger drivers.

Toyota created the Scion brand in 2003. Wednesday, after a 13-year run, Toyota finally announced their quirky offshoot was coming to an end.

Scion drivers can still expect the same service and support from dealerships like DCH Toyota of Torrance. In fact, many Scion models will continue to live on as Toyota vehicles.

Look for formerly Scion models to join the Toyota lineup starting this August.
