Toyota's New In-Car Connectivity System

It was a momentous occasion for Toyota at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). After watching Ford monopolize in-car connectivity for four years and Kia enter the arena last year, Toyota had the opportunity to unveil its new Entune Multimedia System. Entune will debut on select Toyota models later this year.

Toyota's Entune Multimedia System uses drivers' mobile phone data plan for connectivity - similar to competitors' systems. Users can simply download the Toyota Entune app to their smart phone and synch it to the car via Bluetooth. It provides a safer, more efficient way to interact with the phone…

A Toyota Prius Pickup Truck?

Toyota may be considering a Prius hybrid pickup truck to add to a new line-up of vehicles.

Toyota has been planning a slew of Prius models for the next several years, including a "MPV" (the foreign equivalent of a minivan), a sporty coupe and now, possibly, a pickup truck. The Japanese auto maker hopes to combine their most aerodynamic vehicle with one of history's less than speedy rides, in order to create a truck that is great on gas, cuts through the wind, and can deliver a large payload.
